Zac Rossen is a sophomore student at the University of California, Davis. Currently he is
in training to get a degree in Biomedical Engineering while being involved with the UCD
Cycling team, and holding a Mechanic position at the on campus bike shop (ASUCD
Bike Barn). Zac’s favorite classes in school are physics, mathematics, chemistry, stunt
101 as well as anything that is applicable to exercise physiology. When Zac isn’t out
going to class or working or riding you probably could find him in his trying to prefect
his guitar playing skills or cooking. Ladies love him.

Zac got into biking through his parents at a quite young age. Growing up his parents
always watched the Tour de France every July and finally one year the spark hit the
tender and Zac decided that some day he was going to race bicycles. Probably the very
next day Zac was out on his 21 speed Schwinn mountain bike with his 11 year old friends
trying to ride up Mt. Diablo, a local peak that was deemed hard enough to make it into
the 2012 Tour of California. Needless to say, punctures, lack of water, in adequate
equipment, and countless other things inhibited him and his posse reaching the top but
the goal was set. Fast forward to junior year in high school, Zac decided to drop playing
baseball in turn for going out for his NICA affiliated high school mountain bike team, the San Ramon Valley MTB Team.
There Zac did his very first cycling races and learned the basics for becoming a high
level cyclist. His senior year, him and Andrew Duensing took the reigns of the team as
its captains and not only furthered their cycling skills but also honed their discipline and
leadership. Zac is now a collegiate racer and has had many successes since those days of getting stranded on a ride in 5th grade and having to call his parents to pick him up.

Zac is extremely giddy to see how far he can push himself and to what level in the cycling
world he can attain. No doubt the NRL Team is a perfect place to do this and he is
extremely thankful for the opportunity.
