Shane Boyle graduated from Monte Vista High School in 2011.
He completed his general education and continues to pursue
higher education at Las Positas College in Livermore CA. There
is looking to complete his general education, with plans to transfer
to a UC. There Shane is looking to tailor his education plan to find
a suitable career path. He has a strong interest in environmental
sciences, energy, sustainability, as well as computer technology.

Shane began riding in late 2009 at the age of 16. While attending
Monte Vista he helped found the Monte Vista Mountain Bike
Racing Team with three other riders. There he raced for two
years, competing in the NorCal High School Mountain Bike
Racing League. Shane qualified and competed at the state
championships. He is currently volunteering as an assistant coach
for the Monte Vista Racing Team. Shane also continues to train
for many various mountain bike races across California.

Shane loves most everything outdoors except for spiders. He
not only rides his bike but also likes to: hike, slack line, and rock
climb. Prior to bike riding Shane was very overweight and played

video games every day. He attributes bike riding to changing his
entire lifestyle and not making him a “fatty” anymore.

Shane is a Bay Area Native, currently living in the East Bay
