Parker is 6’5″ with brown hair and blue eyes. He loves long walks up the hill to the starting gate and cuddling. With his bike. Ladies if you aren’t already going crazy for this fine man, then read on.

Parker is currently attending Ohlone College, with the intention of transferring to a four year university. He is currently planning on majoring in business, but still looking at other options. Whatever major he chooses he knows he wants to obtain at least a Masters degree. Parker was recently invited to join Beta Tau Mu, the Ohlone College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Parker is fairly new to mountain bike racing. He has been racing in indoor and outdoor sport karting since age 11. But last summer Parker needed to buy a bike for commuting to work. He decided to go with a mountain bike. A friend he raced karts with raced mountain bikes and Parker was intrigued. He decided to start racing bikes and got hooked.
He knew joining a team would be a great way to get more involved in the sport. After looking around Parker decided that NRL Racing was an organization he would like to be involved in and applied for the team. He is very happy with his decision to join NRL Racing. Parker believes NRL Racing will help to jump start his mountain biking career.

Parker has been an outdoor enthusiast for years. He loves backpacking and has been to many amazing places, including the top of Mt. Whitney and the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Parker has been in the Boy Scouts of America program since he joined Cub Scouts as a Tiger Cub. He has attended and completed National Youth Leadership Training. Currently he is working on his Eagle Scout project. Parker has earned many scouting awards including the World Conservation Award, 100 Nights Camping, four 50 miler awards, and has completed all the SFBAC Rim of the Bay hikes twice.

Parker is pumped for 2012. Since the end of the world is so close he is going with the “Go big. you only have until December” mindset. He finds it quite effective. His goals for the year include competing in as many races as possible, growing a beard comparable to Brian Wilson’s, and developing as a renaissance athlete with team NRL.

Chris Belnap – Xterra Dream Crusher

After a great result at the Tahoe City Xterra placing second in his age group and 6th overall, the NRL Team decided to talk to Chris Belnap.  As one of the few triathletes on the team he has a huge influence on all athletes.  Chris has been a competitive cyclist for eight years, but this year only marks his second as a triathlete. When asked about why he started competing in triathlons, he answered “Triathlons seemed like a new and exciting challenge after bike racing for several years. I had a decent running foundation, which I would do semi-regularly in my training routines. In 2011 I took up swimming as another way to mix up off-season workouts, and as I got better I realized I had all the base training for a triathlon.”

He had told us he plans on racing the Santa Barbara Triathlon later this month.  The NRL Team is very proud of Chris and we are excited to see what the future will bring him!
